Founded in 1997, JH&A is committed to partnering with associations to achieve outstanding results for members. June Hylands, with an MBA and over 20 years of management experience in the "not for profit" sector built the company based on the following observations: Associations are usually formed by a group of people expert and passionate about a specific cause. Although they have the passion they often lack the time and sometimes the business experience to develop the association to its full potential. As the association becomes successful, the strain on volunteer time and energy increases. The most immediate and urgent issues take precedence leaving little or no time for proactive planning. But, without a strong business and marketing plan they become frustrated by their inability to attain the size and attention they need to significantly further their cause. Volunteers such as Board members rotate, committing about 2 years, and then are gone. They are replaced with new volunteers who have the energy, and commitment but no "corporate" memory. Associations need long term strategies and business solutions that will assist them in reaching their potential in fulfilling their strategic goals. We provide those solutions.
